A child’s life is like a piece of paper on which every person leaves a mark.
The children & youth of today are the future.
However, the National Institute of Mental Health reports that one in ten young people suffer from a mental health disorder severe enough to cause some level of impairment. Therapy can help. Using play therapy and evidence-based methods, we work with children and youth opening a window to a world of opportuntiy.
When working with children, it is important to realize that no child or adolescent is an island. They are always part of a larger community whether it be their family, friends or school environment. Sometimes treating the child is not enough, but also requires seeing them in the wider context of their family. At A Window of Hope Counseling Center we are able to help with the treatment of children and their families.

Working with children is very much different from working with adults. Talk therapy is often ineffective. The language of children and the pathway to mental health is through play. Play therapy is the means by which we work with children to help them develop positive and meaningful lives. Learn more about play therapy here.
